Should a third culture kid date another TCK?
It can help, but it isn't necessary. Another TCK will get your background without an explanation, which makes early dates easier. Long-term, though, what predicts a good relationship is shared values and life goals - including whether you both want a settled or a mobile life - more than a shared upbringing.
The case for
Dating another TCK skips the explainer. They know why "where are you from?" takes a while, why goodbyes hit differently, and why you might want to move again in two years. Many TCKs describe that as a relief.
